Not so mellow yellow

This photo of Fabian's and my NaMoPaiMo horses is perhaps the worst live show picture I have ever published on this blog.
Part of the problem is the lighting. It was early and there wasn't a lot of natural light coming through the windows. The bigger issue, however, was the tablecloth. Horses do not look good on yellow.
And you know...
green isn't any better!
A lot of show holders will use bright colored tablecloths to distinguish between show tables. It makes a lot of sense from that point of view, but some colors are really, really bad for photographic purposes.
SO bad
This is why we used grey tablecloths on all the judging tables at the Jennifer Show.
The neutral color is photo friendly...
and doesn't clash with anything.
I really love beautiful show photos, so show holders, please say no to yellow!
